About us

Weekly, since 2006, cafe ADAM has been looking to improve each and every ingredient in our kitchen, bar and wine cellar.  We have been searching tirelessly for better and more delicious ingredients; it’s just what we do.  Being lucky enough to be in the middle of the Southern Berkshires we are surrounded by an array of meticulous farmers, artisan bakers, food crafters, mongers, brewers, distillers and curators of all sorts.  By using these ingredients it is easy to keep menus in season, sustainable, ethical and delicious.  Our cuisine has no definition or theme, it’s basically based on what tastes good now.

ADAM ZIEMINSKI

Chef/Owner

It all started with his Mom’s bakery in Housatonic (Christina’s Just Desserts) circa 1990.  Although a Berkshire Native he’s been here and there… in 1998 Johnson and Wales graduate that included Apprenticeships in Wales (Celtic Manor) and London (The Connaught Hotel).  Then some short stints at Rialto-Charles Hotel Boston (Jodie Adams), Aquavit NYC (Marcus Samuelson).  Leading up to a position in the kitchen of the Wheatleigh Hotel in Lenox (Jeff Thompson/Bryce Whittesley).  In 2004  he completed another apprenticeship at Le Manoir de Quat Saisons, Oxford (Raymond Blanc) where he was part of the American Food Revolution. Shortly afterward he went on to open cafe ADAM in 2006 with business partner Sylwia Orczykowska.  Since then Adam was a board member of Berkshire Grown and penned a monthly food column for Berkshire Homestyle  Magazine.
